Bicholim is a town in the territory of Goa, and the headquarters of the consuelho (district) of the same name; the Consuelho of Bicholim, located in the north-east quarter is one of the seven that make up the Novas Conquistas or New Conquests, territories added to Goa comparatively latter than the first three of the Velhas Conquistas. The town is located about 30 kilometres from the capital Ponnjhe. It is in the mining heartland of Goa.     Bicholim is the centre for artistic pottery. Famous artist "Zilu Harmalkar" has his workshop in the industrial estate.  As the pottery & terra-cotta  are traditional crafts with utility-cum-decorative items produced by the potters with artistic perfection and realistic finish. Over the past 25 years, artisans such as Zilu have gained the knowledge and experience to make moulded sculptures, decorative vases, floor and claddings titles besides murals.     We carry a large contract with the hotels in and around the providence of GOA.
